Second attempt at changing electoral legislation fails

Ljubljana, 18 December - A second attempt at abolishing electoral districts and introducing a voluntary preference vote has failed to garner a two-thirds majority of 60 votes. The bill was proposed by four left-leaning opposition parties and opposed by the coalition SDS and DeSUS as well as two opposition SD MPs. 55 MPs voted in favour and 26 against on Friday.
