Ljubljana, 12 January - Below is a review of the headlines in Slovenian dailies for Tuesday, 12 January:

DELO

Social networks
"Silencing of Donald Trump warning to Twitter users": Social networks have been saying that they are nothing but providers of services and are as such not responsible for the contents published by billions of users. But their argument is becoming increasingly shaky, especially since the outbreak of the political crisis in the US and blocking of accounts of outgoing President Donald Trump. (front page, 5)

No-confidence motion
"Finishing touches": The Constitutional Arch Coalition (KUL) is working on the last details of the no-confidence motion that will be filed on Friday. The three main arguments of the opposition parties are known. The KUL is also finishing up its coalition agreement, and the distribution of ministerial posts has already been completed. (front page, 2)

Construction
"This should be good year for builders": Construction companies are counting on several infrastructural projects this year. The budget for transport investments is record high and tops EUR 1 billion for the first time. (front page, 8)

US crisis
"FBI warning against unrest": Outgoing US President Donald Trump faces impeachment for enticing to violence little more than a week before he is to leave office. The initiative will most likely not be successful, but it will force the Republicans in the Congress to pick sides. (front page, 6)

No-confidence motion
"Erjavec seeks signatures, investments in army delayed": The new prime minister candidate, Karl Erjavec, will start collecting signatures of support today. It is still not clear whether they will also be provided by all of Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) MPs. The Constitutional Court has meanwhile stayed the implementation of the law on army investment. (front page, 3)

Housing
"Higher rents, more public rental homes": The changes to the housing act, which the government adopted last Thursday, are to increase the number of public rental homes in the country. The bill allows public housing funds to borrow more, and brings a rise in uncommercial rents but also higher subsidies for tenants eligible for uncommercial rents. (front page, 6, commentary 12)

FINANCE

Deposit charges
"Deposit charges going up for companies as well": While only a year ago, banks charged deposit fees to companies for relatively high amounts of money, say half a million euro, now this ceiling is dropping. (front page, 2,3 )

Bonds
"Who were those that paid money to borrow money to Slovenia and why": Slovenia was again among the first countries to issue bonds this year. It issued a new 10-year bond of EUR 1.75 billion and extended the existing 30-year bond issue by another EUR 250 million. This is the first time it issued a bond with a negative yield to maturity. (front page, 4, 5)

Internet competition
"Why Google rivals are not happy about fighting monopolies": The paper looks at why Mozzila was not happy about the US state filing an antitrust lawsuit against Google, alleging that it unlawfully maintains monopolies through anticompetitive and exclusionary practices in the search and search advertising markets. (front page, 6, 7)

"Time to apply": The first batch of Covid-19 vaccine arrives in community health centres today and on Wednesday for those over 80 years old and chronic patients. Experts say they would not be picky when it comes to vaccines. (front page, 2-3, 8)

Donald Trump
"US president blocked": Social networks have denied hospitality to outgoing US President Donald Trump. Did they thus interfere with the freedom of speech? (front page, 7)

Police wages
"Hojs publishes police officers' wages": As a part of police officers went on strike on Monday, Interior Minister Aleš Hojs made wages of all employees of police publicly available by names. (front page, 5)
