Covid-19 vaccination
"More interest in vaccination than there's vaccine": Slovenia has ordered and been approved almost 1.8 million of doses of the Pfizer/Biontech vaccine and 470,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine. So far 40,000 doses have arrived. Immunisation is to be sped up after a third vaccine is approved. (front page, page 3)

"Democrats for Trump's dismissal": Donald Trump, the US president for only a week longer, labelled his speech in protest against the confirmation of President elect Joe Biden last week as perfectly acceptable during his first visit outside the capital after his supporters stormed the Capitol. (front page, page 2)
Handball
"Nice opportunity for a medal": The national men's handball team is starting its campaign at the 27th World Championships in Egypt tomorrow. (front page, page 18)
Crisis bonuses
"Payments with December pay": Employees in the private sector who work are eligible for a crisis bonus under the 7th coronavirus stimulus package. Most of the bonuses are to be paid out this week. (front page, page 9)

"Vaccine to arrive still, measures remain in place": It is not clear yet what will be the vaccination tempo in the coming months. Inoculation can protect the most vulnerable against getting sick massively, but does not yet make it possible to ease restrictions. (front page, page 3)
Police pay data release
"Minister Aleš Hojs's dangerous game": First unofficial information suggests Interior Minister Aleš Hojs has published the names and pay data of all police officers except for those in the special tasks division. Many deem his move inappropriate. (front page, page 4, commentary 12)

Sovereign Holding
"SSH knew well Bia Separations sale was ongoing": Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SSH) is trying to get the sale of the state stake in Meta Ingenium annulled in court on grounds that it had not been properly informed about the takeover of Bia Separations where Ingenium held a 10% stake. However, e-mail correspondence between SSH and the Bia Separations management obtained by Finance shows SSH had been notified of the Bia Separations sale procedure on time. (front page, page 6)
Bad bank
"BAMC launching major sale of land and commercial properties. Why not flats?": The Bank Assets Management Company, which is slated to end its operations at the end of 2022, is launching a new round of sale of plots of land and commercial real estate. Residential properties and ownership stakes in companies are not included. (front page, page 4)

Police pay data release
"Disclosure of wages and names. In whose interest?": The publication of data on gross pay of Interior Ministry, police and Interior Inspectorate employees has sparked a major controversy. (front page, pages 2, 5)
Covid-19 vaccination
"Much interest, little vaccine": Some 14,000 people had applied to get vaccinated against Covid-19 at the Maribor community health centre by yesterday, including 1,865 over the age of 80. But more than half of the latter will have to wait longer for their turn to get a jab. (front page, pages 2, 3)
Maribor
"Government to visit in tier orange": Mayor Saša Arsenovič has sent a list of issues to PM Janez Janša that Maribor officials would like to discuss when the government visits the city, which will not happen until the coronavirus situation has improved. (front page, page 9)
No-confidence motion
"Erjavec has four votes": After a marathon meeting, DeSUS leader Karl Erjavec announced that four MPs of his party would support the motion of no confidence in the government. (front page, page 4)
