Infrastructure projects
"Third motorway lane and new bypasses": Apart from resumption of some major infrastructural road and rail projects, major investments slated to begin this year include the construction of a third lane on the A1 motorway entering Ljubljana, several projects on the Ljubljana ring road and bypasses in several towns. "DeSUS possibly joining KUL today": Unofficially, Karl Erjavec is to propose today for his Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) to join the opposition Constitutional Arch Coalition (KUL) as representatives from the coalition and opposition talking to Delo say Erjavec's potential success in the vote of no confidence in the Janez Janša government would make a snap election more likely. Coronavirus
"This week from tier black to red": The Jožef Stefan Institute has calculated that the curve of coronavirus infections is falling and the country will move from black to red tier by the end of the week in terms of infections and hospitalisations. (front page)

National athletes' achievements
"Slovenians on top at home and in Poland": Slovenian winter athletes had a successful weekend. Meta Hrovat came in third in Sunday's giant slalom race for the Golden Fox Cup, while Anže Lanišek placed second at the Ski Jumping World Cup event in Poland. (front page, page 11)

Salaries
"One in five employees got Christmas bonus": November gross pay was up by 12.3% from the month before due to extraordinary payments - Christmas bonuses, business performance bonuses as well as coronavirus bonuses in the public sector. The bonuses were paid to 21.5% of the employees who received pay and they amounted to EUR 756.97 gross on average, up 4.6% from the year before. (front page, page 5)
