Sculptor Frančišek Smerdu on display at National Gallery
Ljubljana, 29 January - The National Gallery has put on display works by sculptor Frančišek Smerdu (1908-1964), who is known for intimate small sculptures and monumental public works of art. One of his best known is a monument to the 19th-century poet France Prešeren which was made in 1952 and is located in front of the theatre bearing the poet's name in Kranj.
