Energy
"American winter raising prices of fuel in Slovenia": Winter storms suspended the extraction of petroleum in the state of Texas, a major producer in the US. This resulted in a 2-4% drop in global production and a raise in fuel prices. (front page, 9)

Coronavirus
"Number of Covid-19 hospitals being reduced": Hospitals in Topolšica and Sežana are switching back to regular programmes as the Covid-19 epidemic in Slovenia is slowing down. "Holiday joy with measures and warnings": School children from the western half of the country are on one-week holidays, and queues are forming in ski resorts as strict epidemiological measures are still in force. (front page, 17)

"Car scrapyard on best agricultural land": The illegal car scrapyard in Zgornji Kašelj, east of Ljubljana, which went up in flames on Sunday, is located on land that is designated as best agricultural land in the municipal spatial plan. (front page, 8, commentary 14)

Disease
"Can H5N8 bird flu virus endanger humans?": The first case of influenza A virus subtype H5N8, or bird flu, jumping from poultry to a human was recorded in Russia. There is no evidence yet that it could be transferred between humans. (front page, 4)

Hospitality industry
"Restaurants opening doors to companies": As restaurants are allowed to serve business, the paper analyses who may be served and what proof inspectors will demand if they see that a restaurant is working. Owners are again pointing to excessive and irrational measures. (front page, 2-3)

Ikea opening
