Ljubljana, 6 April - Below is a review of the headlines in Slovenian dailies for Tuesday, 6 April:

DELO

Labour market
"Measures preserved 200,000 jobs": The paper runs an interview with Mitja Bobnar, director general of the Employment Service, discussing the labour market situation during the epidemic. (front page, 8)

Working from home in public sector
"They would work from home, but they have no equipment": While the Public Administration Ministry has sent detailed instructions on working from home to the entire state administration, employees at administrative units have not been properly equipped for this. (front page, 2)

Cycling
"Roglič too fast for Pogačar this time": The Tour of the Basque Country has started and with it the first duel between the two Slovenian cycling stars, Primož Roglič and Tadej Pogačar. The former won the first stage. (front page, 17)

Agriculture
"Roadside stalls saying goodbye": Under the proposed changes to the farming act, selling fruit and vegetables at roadside stalls would no longer be allowed without a licence for a registered market. (front page, 5)

Border crossings
"Lockdown: Border crossings empty during the holidays": In pre-corona times, border crossings and roads were full around Easter. But this year, there were no congestion on Slovenian roads, not even on Sunday when travel was allowed around the country. (front page, 3)

Epidemic-related fines
"Health inspectors target 'night owls'": The health inspectorate issued almost EUR 2 million in fines during the epidemic to violators of government restrictions. With some measures, like curfew, the inspectors were even stricter than police. (front page, 2)

FINANCE

Apartments on Croatian coast to be sold at auctions
"These are the apartments you can buy on Croatian coast by mid-June": The paper presents holiday apartments in Croatia's Zambratija, Umag, Rijeka, Zadar and other coastal towns that will be sold at auctions. (front page, 12, 13)

Domestic spending
"Will Slovenian buyers really open their wallet wide after the epidemic?": The revenue of households were up last year and the savings of an average households are up. Some are forecasting a summer of free spending, so the paper looks at which branches can look forward to that. (front page, 2-3)

Real estate
"Why is demand for houses up": It is a lot easier to work from home and have children learn from home if you live in a house than if you have an apartment. And given the high prices of apartments in cities it is clear why people with average income are more interested in houses outside cities, says the paper. (front page, 14)

Pig farming
"Pogrom against pig farming": A study by agricultural economist Aleš Kuhar shows that pig farming used to be one of the most important agricultural activities in Slovenia, while now Slovenia is a completely irrelevant player in this field. (front page, 2-3)

Media
"Who is behind NTA": Inspectors are scrutinising the new National Press Agency that its editor-in-chief Aleš Ernecl has labelled a 'fascist media' outlet. The agency is also not listed in the media register. (front page, 4)

Pohorje mountain rescue interventions
"Pohorje must not be underestimated": The Maribor mountain rescue was busier in the first two months of this year than the whole of last year. People mostly underestimated the natural environment, fresh snow and low temperatures. (front page, 8)
