Remote schooling
"Gymnastics in room and remote practical lessons": A survey conducted by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) between November and January shows almost 90% of the 500 student respondents reporting mood disorders, and one out of four experiencing suicidal thoughts during the epidemic. Amnesty report
"A difficult year for human rights": The consequences of the Covid-19 epidemic have disproportionately affected certain groups of people in Slovenia, Amnesty International says in its latest human rights report. (front page, 5)

Cycling
"Pogačar and Roglič a class for themselves in Basque Country": Best Slovenian cyclists Tadej Pogačar and Primož Roglič have confirmed their top form by finishing first and second in stage 3 of the Tour of the Basque Country. Roglič has defended the yellow jersey and has a 20-second lead ahead of Pogačar. (front page, 19)

"Fruit growers on the verge of mental breakdown": A majority of Slovenian fruit growers have two sleepless nights behind them as they struggled to find ways to protect their trees from the freezing temperatures that have hit most of Europe. (front page, 11)

Transport
"Number of lorries in the city increasing": The volume of cargo traffic in Ljubljana is increasing, but this is not surprising, as the volume of traffic overall is increasing, too. (front page, 9)

Epidemic-related fines
"More than two million euro worth of fines my be invalid": A communique from the Interior Ministry shows that more than EUR 2.1 million in fines issued by the police over violations of anti-epidemic measures could be without legal basis. (front page, 2, commentary 16)

Stock exchange
"What you need to know about ETF funds": As it will soon be possible to buy exchange traded funds (ETFs) on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange again, the paper looks at what ETFs are and compares them with similar investments. (front page, 2-3)

Taxes
"FURS going after cars registered abroad and MVT and VAT evasion": The Financial Administration (FURS) has charged in a year and a half more than half a million euro in additional taxes for vehicles registered abroad and used by Slovenian citizens. (front page, 4)

Economy
"Recovery in March driven by German industry": For now, it is considered that, in general, recovery in the European economy is taking place at two speeds, as industry is picking up much faster than the services sector. (front page, 8-9)

"Recordings in police's hands": The police using recordings of events to identify suspected violators after the fact is nothing new, but now the method is also being used to identify people participating in anti-government protests. (front page, 5)

Weather
"Fruit growers losing much of the crop": Record-low temperatures for April have hit fruit trees and exposed vegetables, with some estimates saying that up to 70-80% of the potential crop has been destroyed in certain areas. (front page, 2)

Crisis bonuses
"Bonuses approved, but not paid out": Employees in the healthcare sector are receiving bonuses for work during the epidemic, but not all of them and not everywhere, as the state is being late with the payouts. (front page, 13)
