Public debt
"An additional EUR 6,000 of debt per each Slovenian": The pandemic has substantially increased indebtedness of EU countries. Slovenia is among those with higher extent of borrowing in 2020 but not much above European average. Yet the real cost of the pandemic will be evident in recovery. (front page)
Anti-government protests
"Protest because cold people rule Slovenia": A crowd of protesters gathered in Ljubljana on Day of Uprising Against Occupation, calling for an end to the Janez Janša government. One of the speakers said the country was being ruled by cold people. (front page)
Prosecutor appointments
"Urgency over prosecutors": The European Public Prosecutor's Office is increasingly concerned about delays in the appointment of two European delegated prosecutors from Slovenia, saying the situation is becoming urgent as the office is to become operational on 1 June. (front page, page 2)

"More revenue despite Covid and Sunday shop closure": The retail group Mercator posted EUR 2.170 billion in revenue, up 1.6% from the year before as sales in Slovenia were up by 5.1%. The group made a loss due to revaluation of real estate again. (front page, pages 10, 11)
