Conductor Karmina Šilec focuses on Balkan "sworn virgins" in new project
Maribor, 21 June - Conductor Karmina Šilec has presented her new BABA project, linking music, theatre and literature. The Carmina Slovenica production house collaborated with the Finnish composer Tellu Turkka to put a modern twist on folk music and tell the stories of the Balkan "sworn virgins", women who chose or were forced to live their lives as men.
