ECHR finds lack of effective legal remedy with respect to bail-in

Strasbourg, 14 September - The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled Slovenia has violated Article 1 of Protocol No. 1 to the European Convention on Human Rights in dispossessing holders of shares and subordinated bonds as part of the 2013/14 bank bailout, finding they had no reasonable opportunity to challenge or seek compensation for the central bank's measure.
