On behalf of Slovenia, she laid wreaths at a resistance memorial in the town of Cividale (Čedad) and at a memorial to fallen Partisans in Oseacco (Osojane) in the area of Resia. She addressed both memorial events recalling the many young men who had sacrificed their lives for their ideals.

In Lusevera (Bardo), she visited the grave of Slovenian patriot and culture worker Viljem Černo (1937-2017), who was in 1998 decorated with Slovenia's order of freedom, and met Cultural Research Centre head Luisa Cher.

Jaklitsch also met Resia Mayor Anna Micelli to discuss Resia's potential, current projects and plans for the future, the Government Office for Slovenian Abroad said on Monday.

The mayor highlighted the good cooperation with representatives of the Slovenian ethnic community and border municipalities in Slovenia, especially with Bovec in tourism, while the minister thanked her for the favourable attitude towards the Slovenian community.
