First Slovene Congress on Genetics Starts in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, 2 September - GENETICS/CONGRESS
The Genetics Society of Slovenia started its first congress in Ljubljana on Tuesday. The four-day congress, attended by domestic experts along with their colleagues from nine European countries, was opened by Minister of Science and Technology Andrej Marinček who pledged his ministry, general sponsor of the congress, would seek to support genetics research in the country since molecular genetics and molecular biology, together with information technology and computer science, were sure to exert strong influence on the coming decades.
