GAS and SMC parties to merge under Počivalšek

Ljubljana, 4 December - The non-parliamentary Economically Active Party (GAS) and coalition Modern Centre Party (SMC) are expected to merge at a congress on Saturday, kicking off their campaign for next year's election. The new party is expected to be led by SMC president and Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek, who believes that it will "play a central role" next year.
