Finnish Kalevala Translated into Slovene

Ljubljana, 10 September - CULTURE/KALEVALA/MLADINSKA/KNJIGA
Over 110 years after the death of the Finnish gatherer of folk songs, Elias Loennrot, Slovenes got their first complete translation of Kalevala, a Finnish national epic and key literary work that marked the beginnings of old Finnish literature. Kalevala was translated into the Slovene language by Jelka Ovaska Novak, after ten years of hard work.
