If Slovenia and its citizens regard Sunday's celebration mainly as an important remembrance of the moment that was decisive for the formation of the Slovene state, the Slovenes in Italy see the anniversary also as another opportunity to look forward, hoping the ghost of the past will no longer hinder them in realizing their aspiration for a normal life. This is therefore no ordinary celebration for the Slovenes in Italy, Primorski dnevnik, the Slovene language daily appearing in Trieste, writes on Sunday.
