Slovenia passing baton of EU presidency to France

Brussels/Paris, 1 January - Slovenia is handing the baton of the rotating EU presidency to France on Saturday, the first day of 2022, as its six-month stint at the helm of the Council of the EU came to an end. The French presidency will focus on efforts to reform the European asylum system and Schengen, as well as climate change.
