Drnovšek: "It was a Difficult Decision" - Frlec: "It will be a Difficult Task"

Ljubljana, 17 September - Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek has announced Wednesday, 48 days after Zoran Thaler, 35, resigned form the post of foreign minister, that Boris Frlec, 61, is the candidate for a new head of Slovenia's diplomacy. Drnovšek admitted that this "was a difficult decision" even if all the candidates in contention for the post were "of high quality" and "acceptable" either for the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS) or its coalition partner, the Slovene People's Party (SLS). According to the coalition agreement, the highest office in foreign ministry belongs to the LDS.
