Ski jumps
"Eagles announce battle for Olympic medals": Judging from their achievements at the World Cup in Zakopane, Poland, Slovenia's ski jumping team is in top shape just when it should be, less than three weeks before the Winter Olympic Games. (front page, 9)

Vaccination in Austria
"D Day for unvaccinated Austrians": The Austrian government presented a bill under which vaccination will become obligatory for all citizens over 18 at the beginning of next week. A transition period for the unvaccinated will last until mid-March. After that fines will range from EUR 600 to EUR 3,600. (front page, 3)

Djokovic case
"Deportation of number one after 11 days": Tennis star Novak Djoković has been deported from Australia after spending 11 days in the country, including a few days moving around freely and training. (front page, 12)

Public opinion poll
"Golob becomes strongest rival to SDS": The first Vox Populi poll this year suggests that the party of Robert Golob could catch up with the leading Democrats (SDS) in the election. The parties of the KUL coalition would also do well but the relations among them have changed. (front page, 2-3, commentary 12)

Djokovic case
"End of drama - Djokovic has already left Australia": Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic has left Australia after the Federal Court upheld the government's decision to cancel his visa, capping days of drama over the country's Covid-19 entry rules and his unvaccinated status. (front page, 13)

"Freshly published calls for applications for subsidies": The paper brings an overview of all calls for applications offering microloans, loans for investments, subsidies and other incentives. (front page, 11-12)

Taxes

"Knauf Isulation has ambitious goals of two digit growth": The Škofja Loka-based Knauf Insulation has had a successful year in 2021 and expects two digit sales growth, extensive hiring, expansion of production and cuts in emissions this year. (front page, 8)

Spade of the year award
"Spade of the year": The Spade of the Year award will be handed out on Saturday, 29 January at a ceremony broadcast on RTV Slovenija. One of the statements shortlisted for the award is by director of the Maribor Synagogue Boris Hajdinjak, who said that back in the days special characters used to be limited to their family and bars, but now they have Facebook and thousands of people read them. They've got a strong weapon but there is no responsibility.
