Nedelo Poll on Smoking

Ljubljana, 21 September - PRESS/NEDELO
The recently imposed anti-smoking legislation has had little effect on smoking habits of Slovenes as only 13.4 percent of respondents to a Sunday newspaper Nedelo poll said they smoked less and as many as 84.9 percent claimed the legislation had not made them reduce smoking. Two respondents (1.7 percent) even said they smoked more than before the law was endorsed. The poll carried out by the Delo Stik agency gathered 474 respondents, of which a quarter were smokers, a fifth "former" smokers and over a half (54.6 percent) non-smokers.
