Parliament Holds Extraordinary Session on Slovenia's Failure to Join NATO in the First Wave and on its Strategy of Joining NATO in Post-Madrid Period

Ljubljana, 25 September - PARLIAMENT/EXTRAORDINARY/SESSION/NATO
Socialdemocratic Party Leader, Janez Janša repeated at the beginning of the session, on behalf of those who moved for an extraordinary session on Slovenia's failure to join NATO in the first round of enlargement and on a new strategy of joining NATO, the reasons that led to calling this session. He pointed out that the government did not draw up a document with a clear and comprehensive strategy of joining NATO. In addition, he expressed criticism about a document containing orientations and starting points for the government future activities in the process of integration into NATO that the government has recently submitted to the parliament.
