Illegal crossings of border up almost 80% in first quarter

Ljubljana, 21 April - Slovenian police recorded 2,023 attempts at illegal crossing of the border in the first three months of the year, an increase of 77.5% over the same period last year. Afghanis account for over a third of all those intercepted, the latest police statistics show.
