"Timeline promises new govt as early as 3 June": President Borut Pahor called the maiden session of the new National Assembly for Friday, kicking off proceedings for Robert Golob to form a government with the target date being 3 June. (front page, page 2)

Staffing at state-owned enterprises
"Suspicion of irregularities at SID Bank": The anti-graft watchdog and police are looking into alleged wrongdoing in the appointment of management at SID, the state-owned development bank. The new team took over at the beginning of the year. (front page, page 3)

War in Ukraine
"Anniversary marked by war": Ahead of Victory in Europe Day, Russia escalated attacks in the east of Ukraine, apparently without any major success except for causing further deaths among civilians, including in an attack on a school. (front page, page 6)

National football championship

National football championship
"Too bad for the top": Maribor lost their position on top of the Slovenian premier league standings after suffering a 1:3 defeat at the hands of Bravo in Ljubljana, allowing rivals Koper to enter the last two rounds with a two-point lead. (front page, page 18)
