"Pogačar and Mohorič preparing a spectacle": Slovenian roads will host from Wednesday to Sunday the 28th Tour of Slovenia cycling race, starting in Nova Gorica and featuring Slovenia's stars Tadej Pogačar and Matej Mohorič. (front page, 19)

Coronavirus
"BA.5 strain spreading in Slovenia too": The incidence of infections with the sars-cov-2 virus is on the rise for the first time in Slovenia since March, with the growth driven by BA.5, a more virulent version of the omicron strain. (front page, 4)

Railways
"By train from Ljubljana to Novo Mesto in 51 minutes": The railway between Ljubljana and Novo Mesto (E) is in for thorough overhaul 130 years after being constructed. It will feature two tracks and be fully electrified, shortening the travel time between the two cities by half. (front page, 7)

"100 companies with highest salaries": The top-paying company in Slovenia is the IT company SAP, whose 35 employees have an average monthly gross wage of more than EUR 11,000. The average wage in the top 100 companies in this respect is above EUR 4,000. (front page, 2-3)

Energy and environment
"We visited miners 500 metres below Šalek Valley": Finance journalists have visited miners of the Premogovnik Velenje coal mine, who work 500 metres underground, in light of the upcoming green transition. (front page, 18-20)

Food prices
"Race with food inflation starts on rusty Soviet railways": The global prices of edible oil are record high due to problems in railway transport between Ukraine and Romania. Any increase in supply is important due to the growing fears of a food crisis. (front page, 6-7)
