Slovenia's candidate not elected to UN Human Rights Committee

New York, 17 June - Slovenia's Vasilka Sancin, an international law expert, failed to get re-elected for another four-year term on the UN Human Rights Committee on Friday. Her chances of re-election were seen to be low since her candidacy was submitted as the last one, in early June, almost two months after the 6 April deadline. She received 49 votes.
