Court considers referendum abuse principle in decision making

Ljubljana, 6 July - In the wake of two recent referendum petitions, legal experts note that the Constitutional Court takes into account the doctrine of abuse of the legislative referendum when deliberating on the legitimacy of a referendum. Indicators of abuse include a petition calling for a referendum to postpone the enactment of a law.
