Audits of Covid hazard bonuses
"Irregularities many, but few pay back bonuses": Most audits of the payment of hazard bonuses to public employees during the Covid-19 epidemic - these came at the cost of almost one billion euro to the state budget - showed flaws but there were few cases where the recipients would have to pay back the money. UK government crisis
"End of Johnson era": Considering his resignation statement, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes his departure as the leader of the Conservative party is premature, but most of his party colleagues sighed a sigh of relief yesterday. (front page, page 5)

Ukrainian president's address
"Zelensky in National Assembly": After addressing some 30 legislative bodies of friendly nations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will deliver a video address to the Slovenian National Assembly today. (front page, page 5)

Pharma company's results
"Krka profit up by third": Despite the war in Ukraine or right because of its consequences, pharma company Krka is looking back at a successful first half of year. (front page, page 10)

Tour de France
"Tadej Pogačar is Tour master again": Tadej Pogačar won his first stage win at this year's Tour de France after an epic 219.9km test of the Ardennes to put on the yellow jersey earlier than expected. (front page, page 19)

"Minister Bešič Loredan: We must act differently": A draft healthcare emergency will, which is expected to be on the government's agenda today, would allow payment of all health services at all levels of care and many staff in primary care would get higher pay. (front page, page 3)

Cost-of-living crisis
"How to fight high prices": NGOs have urged the government to respond to rising energy prices by exiting fossil fuels and to ban power cut-offs to vulnerable non-payers. Meanwhile, the opposition party New Slovenia appealed for an emergency bill to deal with rising energy and food prices to be passed before summer recess. (front page, page 2)

Politicians on holidays
"Where will politicians regain their strengths": The paper has inquired where politicians will spend their holidays, finding Croatia is a popular destination. They will have active holidays but they are secretive about the cost of their vacation. (front page, page 4)

Maribor facelift

Slovenia-Croatia border
