The festival will feature sound events, installations, audio-visual performances, concerts and a day-long conference dedicated to sound art in Eastern Europe.

The organisers, the Museum of Transitory Art (MoTA), dubbed this year's festival New Realations in what is a fusion of two terms - New Reality and New Relations - to highlight the need and desire for new types of cooperation and ties in artistic pursuits.

The 14th Sonica will reflect on the post-pandemic reality, seeking to address the potential of this to create new spaces and platforms where new realities can be established, the organisers told the STA.

The festival will serve as a platform for reflection and contextualisation of the current state of sound art scenes in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe.

The concert segment of the festival will take place in venues Kino Šiška, Klub CD, and Channel Zero. One of the highlights will be a performance by the Slovenian trio Širom together with French maestro on the hurdy-gurdy Yann Gourdon.

French DJ Marcelle, Italian experimental artist Lorem and Swiss musician Feldermelder will also perform.
