Annual number of deaths exceeds long-term average due to Covid

Ljubljana, 28 October - The annual number of deaths in Slovenia was above the long-term average and exceeded 24,000 in 2020, which is largely attributed to the Covid-19 epidemic. Life expectancy at birth for both men and women had been increasing until 2020, when it was shortened by almost a year compared to the previous year.
