Slovenia withdraws from Energy Charter Treaty

Ljubljana, 16 November - Slovenia is no longer a party to the Energy Charter Treaty after the Foreign Affairs Committee unanimously endorsed on Wednesday the government's proposal to withdraw. The cabinet believes the international accord is outdated and "a key obstacle to effective environmental and climate policies, and responsible energy policies".
