Ljubljana, 24 January - An exhibition will open tonight at Ljubljana's Town Hall, displaying works by young artists, as part of a project marking 30 years of diplomatic relations between Slovenia and China, Chinese New Year, and Ljubljana and Chengdu becoming twin cities.
The exhibition is part of the joint project between Slovenia and China titled United in Creativity, whose aim is to celebrate the friendship between Slovenia and China, strengthen ties between Ljubljana and its twin city Chengdu, while cultivating the idea that the synergy of cultures and learning more about them enriches and brings people closer together, reads a press release from the Kresija Gallery and the Town Hall.
Illustrations by Slovenian pupils from the Trnovo Primary School and their Chinese counterparts from the Yandaojie Primary School in Chengdu will be on display, focusing on the exciting world of Chinese myths, legends, holidays, customs, and culinary arts.
Also part of the exhibition are photographs from the 2022 Chengdu, City With Views series. Visitors will be able to admire snippets of Chengdu, the capital city of the Sichuan province, which is home to giant pandas.
