Reacting on her Twitter profile, Pirc Musar wrote that every country must consistently respect the rights of minorities. "Like Slovenia, Austria is signatory to the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities," the president wrote.

She thanked Carinthia Governor Peter Kaiser for his sincere call for the protection of the Slovenian minority and for the minority and majority communities to live in harmony.

Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon has talked with Kaiser about the contentious Instagram post and the Foreign Ministry has announced it will summon Austrian Ambassador Elisabeth Ellison-Kramer for talks over the matter.
