"Alarm for paediatric cardiac surgery": Bad news for paediatric cardiac surgery in Slovenia as a top surgeon from the Czech Republic, who operated since 2014, has terminated cooperation with the UKC Ljubljana hospital. (front page, 3)

"Historic win for Slovenia in Asia": The Slovenian men's football team played in Asia for the first time in the opener of the 2024 Euro qualifiers against Kazakhstan in Astana yesterday. It was also the first time Slovenia opened the qualifiers with a win on the road, beating the Kazakhstanis 2:1. (front page, 18)

"How much Slovenian foreigners should know": The condition of knowledge of Slovenian as part of amendments to the act on foreigners will be discussed today in parliament. The coalition Left and President Nataša Pirc Musar have raised their voice against stricter conditions. (front page, 2)
EU legislation
"Cold shower for Scholz, but Golob is with him": German Chancellor Olaf Scholz received a cold shower at yesterday's EU summit as the EU legislation on the abandonment of the production of internal combustion engines for cars from 2035 was blocked. "Prešeren, Valvasor and Vodnik monuments to be renovated": Local authorities have ordered renovation of the monuments to poets France Prešeren and Valentin Vodnik and polymath Janez Vajkard Valvasor in Ljubljana. Work is expected to be concluded in 2026 and cost just under a million euros. (front page, 8)
