Last-minute amendments introduce transitional period in amended foreigners act

Ljubljana, 24 March - Faced with criticism from NGOs about a provision of amendments to the foreigners act that would require basic knowledge of Slovenian for family reunification, the government has adopted amendments to introduce a transitional period. As a result, a Home Affairs Committee session was adjourned on Friday and will resume on Monday.
