Healthcare investments
"Two billion euros for investments in healthcare": With investments at EUR 508 million, UKC Ljubljana accounts for the biggest chunk of the EUR 2 billion that Slovenia plans to spend on sprucing up hospitals by 2031. After initial delays, works are now in full swing. (front page, 3)

Dividend policy
"Listed companies handing out dividends": Krka's announcement of its dividend opens hunting season for Slovenian dividends. While there are significant differences between the blue chips, it seems dividend yields will average 6%. (front page, 11)

Flood protection plan
"Ministry acknowledges it does not have control over EU project, minister orders audit": The Ministry of Natural Resources admits that it does not know what is going on with the EUR 300m project to improve flood protection around the country. "European courting of autocratic peace broker": Chinese President Xi Jinping told French President Emmanuel Macron and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen that he was willing to ring up the Ukrainian president, but at a time that he deems appropriate. (front page, 6)

Maribor budget
"Still without a budget": The opposition in Maribor City Council removed the budget documents from the agenda of the last session in protest at proposed price hikes. The vote has been postponed by two weeks. (front page, 13)

City life
"The beat of Gosposka": Gosposka Street in the centre of Maribor used to be the centre of city life. Now it's full of shops, but facades are sprayed with graffiti, many storefronts are a mess, and in the afternoon there are hardly any people walking through. (front page, 14, 15)

Labour inspection
