Holiday allowance
"Ever more companies offer maximum holiday allowance": It seems like many companies will pay out higher holiday allowance than last year, many offering the maximum tax-free amount of just over EUR 2,100. (front page, 3)
Automobile industry
"Support for green mobility": Prime Minister Robert Golob announced EUR 200 million in incentives for green mobility innovation in Slovenia's automobile industry. (front page, 8)
Govt plane in the shop
"Falcon hit by hale, needs servicing": The government's falcon jet suffered minor damage when delivering President Nataša Pirc Musar to London on 5 May for the coronation of King Charles III. The jet is being repaired and did not return to London for the president the next day. The president got a lift with the Slovakian plane to Bratislava. (front page, 2)

Moonlighting radiologists
"It pays to work hard in the afternoons": Radiologists employed by the UKC Maribor hospital who have additional service contracts have performed twice as many hours on these special contracts than during their normal working hours. This arrangement is nothing new, but last year's legislative changes designed to cut waiting times triggered additional growth. (front page, 4)

"Moscow celebrates Victory Day, Kyiv celebrates Europe Day": While European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen celebrated Europe Day in Kyiv, the usually massive military parade to celebrate Victory Day in Moscow was scaled down and accompanied by strict security measures, likely to avoid anti-war protests. (front page, 6, 12)

"Public call to find honorary consul": The Australian Embassy in Vienna, which is also in charge of Slovenia, has issued a public call for applications to find a new honorary consult in Slovenia. It said this was because it wanted a broad selection of candidates to choose from. (front page, 2)

Inflation
"Egon Zakrajšek: It will take three or four years to get inflation to 2%": It is much harder to get inflation from 4% to 2% than it is to lower it from higher levels to 4%, Egon Zakrajšek, a senior adviser at the Bank of International Settlements in Basel, told the Financial Conference, an annual event hosted by the business paper.
Bank deposit interest rates
"Bankers' Q&A: Why are deposit rates so low and when will they go up": Five bank executives took part in a round table debate at Finance's Financial Conference to explain why deposit interest rates are still rather low in Slovenia. (front page, 4, 5)
Slovenian and Croatian C-bank governors
"Additional interest rate increases will be necessary": Talking at the Financial Conference, the governors of Slovenia's and Croatia's central banks, Boštjan Vasle and Boris Vujičić, shared the view that the European Central Bank will have to continue raising interest rates. (front page, 3)

Aviation subsidies
"Subsidies grounded": Only two carriers applied for Slovenia's aviation subsidies scheme. Croatian aviation expert Alen Ščurić says he cannot understand the mistakes made by Slovenia, adding that Zadar airport is paying Ryanair EUR 1.5 million a year in exchange for 140 weekly flights to 45 destinations.
