Primož Roglič wins Giro d'Italia
ROME, Italy - Slovenian cycling star and Jumbo-Visma rider Primož Roglič won this year's Giro d'Italia after he all but sealed the victory by seizing the lead from Brit Geraint Thomas in Saturday's time trial. He maintained a 14-second lead ahead of Thomas, who confirmed his second place overall. Portugal's Joao Almeida came in third. This marks the first time a Slovenian has won the Giro.
Joinery manufacturer AJM records large sales revenue increase
PESNICA - AJM, one of the largest Slovenian joinery manufacturers, increased its sales revenue by some EUR 5 million to EUR 28 million in 2022. The family-run business, based north-east of Maribor, increased revenue on the home market by 29% and on European markets by 9%, surpassing the financial plan. AJM posted more than EUR 1 million in profit last year.
Over 90% of social sciences students use ChatGPT, survey suggests
LJUBLJANA - More than 90% of students of the Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences use the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT, indicates a survey that the faculty recently carried out among 292 participants. A vast majority of the students, 93%, use ChatGPT to get information and while writing research papers. Around half of them use it to chase away boredom or for academic cheating.
