Field calls for ombudsman's financial and institutional independence

Ljubljana, 9 June - Concluding his visit to Slovenia, Chris Field, president of the International Ombudsman Institute, called for enhancing national human rights institutions and ensuring their financial and institutional independence. "Even in the public sector top professionals cannot work on ethics alone," the Slovenian ombudsman's office quoted him as saying.
