Taxes
"Croatia lowering taxes, Slovenia introducing new ones": As Croatia maintained stable finance after adopting the euro currency, it can now lower taxes somewhat to increase people's purchasing power, business activity and also tax revenue. Slovenia on the other hand is preparing new taxes to fill the empty budget purse. (front page, 3)
Farmers' objections to Natura 2000 protection area
"Unofficially: Govt yielded to farmers": Farmers' representatives allegedly managed to convince the government at Friday's talks to remove the controversial rules on managing the Natura 2000 protected areas in 2023-2028 which prompted farmers' protests. (front page)
Interest rates
"Bankers to discuss interest rates again": Money will probably get costlier again this week, as the European Central Bank, the US Federal Reserve and some other major global central banks will decide on their monetary policies in the coming days. (front page, 8)

Cutting of trees in Ljubljana's city park

Housing loans
"More accessible loans will increase demand for apartments": As the Slovenian central bank will relax in July the macroprudential measure that restricts crediting of consumers, with the new lower limit of creditworthiness to be based on essential living expenses and certain additional factors, real estate agencies in Ljubljana, Maribor and the coast expect the demand to go up only for the smallest and cheapest apartments.
