Slovenia and Croatia to jointly promote tourism in US

Ljubljana, 21 June - The Slovenian Tourist Organisation (STO) and the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) are launching a joint promotional campaign called Naturally Yours - taste, feel, love, with the aim of promoting the two countries as year-round tourist destinations to the American market. The campaign is co-funded by the European Commission.

The campaign is featured on the website of the European Travel Commission at https://visiteurope.com/en/naturally-yours/, as well as in American media, including Conde Nast Traveler and Wanderlust.

STO and HTZ will create promotional videos for a separate campaign on Youtube. At the end of the year a workshop for key agents and partners on the American market will be held.

"The US are the most important overseas market for Slovenian tourism," said STO director Maja Pak, adding that in the US the organisation is targeting more demanding guests.

STO already hosts American tour operators and journalists in Slovenia. It is working together with organisations including the United States Tour Operators Association, luxury tourism associations Virtuoso and Signature, and media like the National Geographic and the CNN, Pak said.

Basketball star Luka Dončić is a window for Slovenia to the American market as well, said Pak, adding that in April STO held a promotional event I feel Slovenia Night with the Dončić's Dallas Mavericks.

In the past Croatia and Slovenia have had successful joint campaigns on the Chinese and Australian markets, said HTZ director Kristjan Staničić, adding that the current campaign aims to highlight natural heritage, active tourism, eno-gastronomy, culture and sustainable travel.

Both HTZ and STO are looking forward to the joint promotional campaign and believe that it will strengthen the tourism of both countries.
