Podčetrtek, 9 July - A fire broke out in the warehouse of a restaurant in the Aqualuna spa complex in Podčetrtek in the east of the country on Saturday. Some 1,500 visitors of the outdoor pool area had to be evacuated, but nobody was injured and the fire was put out quickly. The spa centre reopened today, Terme Olimija said on its website.

The fire, which broke out little after 5pm yesterday, destroyed the entire inventory and the roof of the building, the Information Centre said.

Firefighters from several volunteer firefighting stations intervened to quickly put out the fire and minimise the damage.

The cause of the fire is not clear yet and the damage is yet to be assessed.

Vasja Čretnik, head of sales and marketing at Terme Olimia, told the STA today that police had inspected the site last evening. Workers cleaned up the facilities today, so the pool area and all other facilities that were not affected by the fire reopened today.
