Number of storms-related deaths rising

Ljubljana, 7 August - Two more casualties of catastrophic weather in Slovenia have been found, raising the total number of deaths to six. A man fell to his death while repairing the damage caused by floods and another dead body was found in the swollen Temenica River.

The Ljubljana police station was notified of a dead body being found in a cesspit in the area of Most pri Komendi on Sunday.

Local web portal Kamnik Info reported the victim was a man who allegedly died while doing repair works after the floods. The man reportedly fell into an open cesspit.

At around 9pm last night, a dead body was found in the swollen Temenica in Ivanja Vas in the Dolenjska region in the south-east, media report today.

This raises the total death toll to six after a dead man was found on Saturday morning on the Sava embankment in Ljubljana, a woman's body was found in the area of Kamnik, north of Ljubljana, on Friday and two Dutch citizens were struck by lightning in the mountains in the Bohinj area in the north-west.
