Slovenian radio stations collect almost EUR 2m for flood victims

Ljubljana, 9 August - In the face of recent massive floods that forced hundreds of Slovenians from their homes, devastated two-thirds of the country and claimed lives, Slovenian radio stations joined forces in a fundraising campaign. The campaign dubbed One Heart, One Slovenia raised a total of EUR 1,914,746. Apart from Radio 1, the funds were raised by Radio 1 80ta, Radio Antena, Radio Bob, Radio Kranj, Radio Triglav, Radio Robin and Radio Maxi.

The marathon fundraising programme ran from 6am until 6pm, featuring a number of guests, ranging from musicians to psychologists and civil protection officials. People affected by floods also shared their stories.

A charity auction of basketball star Luka Dončić's jersey signed by the entire Slovenian basketball team also started during the marathon programme and is still ongoing, so the final sum is expected to increase, news portal 24ur.com reported.
