Single ticket for train rides across Slovenia available as of today
Ljubljana, 11 August - The Slovenian Railways are introducing single monthly and annual tickets on Friday that can be used for train rides throughout the country longer than 20 kilometres. The monthly ticket will cost 65 euro and the annual 520 euro, which is 5% lower than the single ticket for trains and buses that was introduced on 1 June.
Return tickets for distances over 80 kilometres will no longer be available as daily tickets enabling unlimited rides throughout the country will now be available for 14 euro.
The age limit for the 50% cheaper tickets for children will be raised from 12 to 15 years and the annual ticket for primary school students will be valid the whole year from now on, including during the summer holidays as the state wants to encourage train rides.
A weekly ticket for distances over 40 kilometres will cost 32 euro. A monthly ticket for distances over 20 kilometres not confined to a single user will cost 85 euro.
A six-month ticket will be available for 325 euro or 425 euro for multiple users. The annual ticket that can be used by more persons will cost 680 euro.
