Slovenian military chopper crews logged 155 hours in the air this week, transporting around 400 people and delivering 125 tonnes of cargo. They also helped rescue many animals, the Slovenian Military has said on X, formerly Twitter.

Helicopters were also sent to Slovenia from abroad, with foreign crews logging a total of 99 hours in the air, transporting 300 passengers and 1365 tonnes of cargo, the military said.

Every day, five military helicopters are helping in the flood relief efforts, as well as 30 trucks and all available heavy machinery, according to the military.

The Slovenian Police meanwhile said its chopper crews rescued or evacuated nearly 230 people, and transported another 40 involved in the relief effort, including mountain rescuers, technical and utility staff, geologists, firefighters and civil protection staff.

Police helicopters delivered about 13 tonnes of supplies, including food, water, fuel, generators and medicines. The police airborne unit is also conducting a review of the flood-stricken areas.
