Dewesoft makes US$7 million investment in American subsidiary
Trbovlje, 23 August - The Trbovlje-based high-tech manufacturer Dewesoft unveiled on Tuesday the new headquarters of its US subsidiary in Whitehouse, Ohio. The investment, worth US$7 million or EUR 6.4 million, will further accelerate the company's growth in the US and global markets of measurement solutions, the company said on Wednesday.
Dewesoft US is the company's largest subsidiary, selling and supporting a broad range of data acquisition measuring and recording instruments, Dewesoft said in a press release.
Having been operating on the same location in Whitehouse since 2012, the subsidiary currently employs more than 50 people.
The investment was absolutely necessary due to the company's rapid growth and the need for bigger premises, said Jure Knez, co-founder and president of Dewesoft.
"This significant investment conveys the message that we will be even closer to our local customers in the future with our measurement technology and support," he added.
The plan now is to expand the subsidiary's "support, order processing, service, accounting, business development, sales, marketing, and application center departments by 20% by the end of the year", reads the press release.
Moreover, the training centre will be stepped up and "the setup of service and manufacturing processes, under the guidance of the parent company, will also be implemented".
Ever since Dewesoft sold its first software to the US over 20 years ago, the country has been an important market for the Slovenian maker of data acquisition systems. The US is currently the largest single market for Dewesoft, accounting for a third of the group's turnover.
"In 2022, sales in the American region reached $38.5 million, which is a 30% increase compared to 2021 or 50% growth compared to 2020. The expected forecast of annual turnover for 2023 is $45 million, which means another record year for the American team."
Founded in 2000, Dewesoft specialises in the development and production of innovative scientific measuring instruments and software for different sectors, including automotive, aerospace, construction, energy, civil engineering, and green technology. It is the majority owner of 18 subsidiaries worldwide.
The group generated more than EUR 75 million in revenue last year, which puts it among the top five leading global providers of measurement solutions, the company said.
Dewesoft's customers include NASA, ESA, SpaceX, Airbus, Honeywell, Siemens, BMW, Caterpillar, Volvo, Audi, Akrapovič, Pipistrel and others.
