They are starting their visit by meeting Slovenian Red Cross President Ana Žerjal and Secretary General Cvetka Tomin, as well as other representatives of the charity, the Slovenian Red Cross said in a press release.

Tomorrow, Chapagain and Bischoff Ebbesen will visit Škofja Loka and meet the volunteers of the local Red Cross who have been a link to people whose access roads had been cut off by the floods.

In the afternoon, they will hold talks with Prime Minister Robert Golob, Defence Minister Marjan Šarec and Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon.

On Friday, Chapagain and Bischoff Ebbesen will meet with business representatives and attend an event hosted by President Nataša Pirc Musar, herself a former president of the Slovenian Red Cross.

Talks will revolve around the position of the Red Cross as the number one assistant to the state, responsiveness in natural and humanitarian disasters and opportunities for closer cooperation, both with the state and the private sector, the press release said.
