Weather: Temps well above 30C until Sunday

Ljubljana, 24 August - It will be clear and hot in Slovenia until Sunday, which has prompted the Environment Agency (ARSO) to issue an orange alert, the second highest, due to heat stress for the south-west for today, and for south-west, south-east and central Slovenia from Friday to Saturday.

On Friday, the mercury will rise to between 30 and 36 degrees Celsius during the day, when a south-westerly can blow in some parts of the country.

Morning temperatures will also be high, at 17 to 21 in most parts, at 23 on the coast but at 14 in Alpine valleys and in the coldest areas of Notranjska, south.

Fog is possible in some basins in the morning, and there is a slim chance of short-lived storms in the afternoon in the north-west, especially in the mountains.

ARSO also warns about the high risk of wildfires.
