Ljubljana, 24 August - Slovenian star cyclist Tadej Pogačar announced on Thursday that a charitable autograph-signing campaign last night raised just over EUR 30,000, which will be donated alongside his initial pledge of EUR 10,000 to the victims of devastating floods that hit Slovenia in early August.

Some 4,500 people came to the Congress Square in Ljubljana last night to see the 2020 and 2021 Tour de France winner, according to Pogačar's team.

He pledged to make an initial donation of EUR 10,000, which was then topped up by 10 euro for every autograph and selfie he made last night. In total, he signed nearly 1,800 autographs and posed for over 1,210 selfies.

Pogačar has also donated a signed jersey for a charitable auction launched by another top rider, Primož Roglič. The auction is ongoing and will conclude at the end of the month.

In addition to jerseys of Pogačar and Roglič, the auction includes jerseys of several other Slovenian top cyclists, including Luka Mezgec and Matej Mohorič. The latter won the Tour of Poland at the time of the floods and donated the entire prize money, over EUR 24,000, for flood relief.
