Asta Vrečko new leader of the Left
Ljubljana, 2 September - Culture Minister Asta Vrečko has been elected the new leader of the Left, replacing Luka Mesec, who led the party since the start nearly 10 years ago. Vrečko has been his deputy since 2021 and entered national politics by becoming minister in 2022. Her rival for leadership was MP Miha Kordiš, representative of the party's most radical wing.
